IOGA of NY’s initial DVD and a Press & Sun-Bulletin interview with Binghamton Town Supervisor Tom Whitesell is now available on the Video Clip page. Additional videos will be posted as they become available.

We’ve also changed the Homegrown Energy Report page into the Educational Materials page where you can now find The Facts About Hydrofracing factsheet. Additional educational materials will be posted as they are developed.

In response to the increased interest of natural gas exploration of the Marcellus Shale and the environmental safeguards needed to protect the public during this process, the New York State Assembly held a hearing on oil and gas drilling on Tuesday, October 15.

NYS DEC Releases Draft Scope for Draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the Oil, Gas and Solution Mining Regulatory Program

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has issued a draft scoping document outlining the issues of high-volume hydraulic fracturing of horizontal wells in New York’s natural gas-bearing Marcellus and Utica shale formations.
